Cattle Tracking Initiative - Action Plan (April 2026)

Objective: To formalize the immediate next steps for the Cattle Tracking Initiative. The priority is to clear the "NDA Wall" with key deep-tech partners to proceed from the Evaluation Phase to the Preliminary Architectural Design Phase.

This directly supports our Infrastructure-Free ROI architecture: transitioning to a dual-layer topology (LoRa P2P Mesh + Satellite/Cellular backhaul) and addressing the extreme power constraints of a 5-year animal lifespan.

1. Execute Pending NDAs

Action required on NDAs already received to unlock technical data-sheets, power profiles, and RF guidelines.

  • Racyics (ASIC Partner)
    • Strategic Role: Long-term ASIC migration for 2.5M unit scale-up.
    • Action Needed: Review and internally approve the default Racyics NDA template received on March 23.
    • Next Step: Sign and return to access 50u MPW ASIC details.
  • Sateliot (Satellite Backhaul / NTN)
    • Strategic Role: Critical for securing nRF9151 (NTN NB-IoT) 3GPP Rel-17 backhaul guidelines.
    • Action Needed: Review the mutual NDA template received on March 23.
    • Next Step: Sign and return to begin the technical enablement program.
  • Endrich (Silicon & NeoMesh)
    • Strategic Role: Sourcing bare-metal SoCs (Sub-GHz) and Low-Power Positioning modules.
    • Action Needed: Review the mutual NDA template received on March 23 from Philipp Große.
    • Next Step: Sign and return to their legal department to unlock Zephyr / Sub-GHz component specifications.
  • Grinn Global (Full Stack HW/FW Design)
    • Strategic Role: Identified as a strong candidate capable of handling full hardware, firmware, and mechanical design.
    • Action Needed: Finalize the mutual NDA draft provided by Robert Otręba on March 20.
    • Next Step: Sign and return to move forward with deeper requirement discussions.

2. Confirm & Send NDA Templates

Action required to bridge the gap with partners who have requested an NDA but are awaiting template selection.

  • Dracula Technologies (OPV Solar Harvesting)
    • Strategic Role: Flexible solar harvesting to eliminate battery maintenance in outdoor, harsh environments.
    • Action Needed: Follow up with Jerome Vernet on the JAAB NDA template sent on March 27.
    • Next Step: Confirm receipt and push for signature to access specs regarding outdoor durability (UV, mud, rain).
  • e-peas (Power Management / PMIC)
    • Strategic Role: AEM Series PMICs for optimizing energy harvesting and targeting 5-year battery life.
    • Action Needed: Confirm with Pierre Gelpi mapping out the template choice.
    • Next Step: Send the JAAB template or request theirs to move forward and access the power budget tools.
  • Ignion (Internal SMD Antennas)
    • Strategic Role: Supplying Virtual Antenna tech fitting our IP69K sealed collar/bolus internal requirements.
    • Action Needed: Follow up with Marc Muñoz regarding the NDA process.
    • Next Step: Send the JAAB standard NDA template to gain access to RF integration guidelines.

3. Schedule Technical Coordination

Conversations waiting for an active scheduling push.

  • Qualcomm (Terrestrial Positioning Service - TPS)
    • Strategic Role: Offloading GNSS compute to the cloud to avoid high-power cold starts.
    • Action Needed: We missed the initial "available from March 30" window proposed to Steve Solari.
    • Next Step: Send an email immediately to Steve with fresh availability times to schedule the introductory technical call.
  • Softgent (Industrial Design House)
    • Strategic Role: Potential Design House capable of handling industrial-grade hardware design in Spanish.
    • Action Needed: Acknowledge the warm introduction provided by Pierre (e-peas) to Kris Bujak.
    • Next Step: Propose a preliminary introductory call.
  • Monogoto (NTN / Roaming APIs)
    • Strategic Role: Wholesale connectivity/roaming for the cellular mesh component.
    • Action Needed: Meeting successfully scheduled with Igal Zeigerman via Zoom.
    • Next Step: Prepare usage estimates (data usage per month/device, target countries, RAT needed) for the call on April 9.
  • Nordic Semiconductor (Silicon / Zephyr RTOS)
    • Strategic Role: Deep technical integration for Zephyr and Sub-GHz RF topologies.
    • Action Needed: Project ("Autonomous Livestock Tracking & Tokenization Nodes") successfully registered under ID 58236388661.
    • Next Step: Confirm if the in-person coffee with Joao Dullius at South Summit (Porto Alegre) took place; if not, arrange a formal tech call.
  • Drover (Virtual Fencing / EMS)
    • Strategic Role: Exploring synergies in virtual fencing and complementary livestock monitoring.
    • Action Needed: Follow up on the initial March 9 meeting with Callum Taylor (CEO).
    • Next Step: Assess if Drover's platform can plug into our "Infrastructure-Free" network topology.

4. Review Strategic Alignment / Parked Discussions

  • BTRY (Solid-State Batteries)
    • Strategic Role: Ultra-thin, high-density storage targeting low USD pricing.
    • Action Needed: Review their timeline internally. They deferred the NDA until an initial call is held, noting their mass manufacturing timeline is ~2 years away.
    • Next Step: Decide if this timeline aligns with Phase 3 (ASIC/Bolus). If so, schedule a non-confidential discovery call with Livia Benedict.
  • Ynvisible (e-Paper / RFID Displays)
    • Strategic Role: Integrating ultra-low-power local displays directly on collars/tags.
    • Status: Parked. Andres communicated to Newton Sant'Anna on March 21 that other core priorities (connectivity, investment) take precedence right now.
    • Next Step: Keep their tech videos and mutual NDA on file to revisit once the architecture is set.
  • Akenza.io (CaaS Middleware)
    • Strategic Role: Middleware for handling LPWAN tracking connectivity infrastructure.
    • Status: Parked. Andres confirmed with Alex Schäpper on March 21 that it's an interesting building block, but no immediate action is needed.
    • Next Step: Keep Akenza in the loop for Phase 2 (Data Platform Architecture).
